Nigerian music producer Tunexbeatz has publicly accused Sierra Leonean rapper Kao Denero of stealing $7,000 during a past altercation involving artist Famous. The matter has reportedly been reported to authorities, with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) currently looking into the claims.
In a Facebook post, Tunexbeatz wrote, “Kaolastkingdenero, the situation with Famous is not one to be taken lightly. The $7,000 that went missing during the incident is payment for work.”
Kao Denero has not directly responded to the theft allegation but confirmed in a separate Facebook post that he was previously questioned by the CID regarding Famous. “A few months ago, I was invited to the Police CID headquarters based on serious allegations made by Famous,” he stated. While he did not mention the missing money, he referenced Famous’ accusation that he attacked him with a firearm. “This individual claimed that I assaulted him with a pistol, among other things,” he added.
The rapper also expressed frustration over Famous’ repeated social media taunts, calling the behavior disrespectful. “It is disheartening to witness such insults from someone I consider a peer. The public has seen how often he targets me with derogatory remarks,” he said.
Kao Denero further criticized artists who adopt a tough image but turn to law enforcement when conflicts arise. “It’s ironic that someone portraying themselves as a gangster runs to the police when challenged. The investigation is ongoing,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Tunexbeatz defended Famous’ decision to involve authorities, questioning why some Sierra Leoneans criticize legal action in a country governed by the rule of law.
