A suspected drug trafficker, Santigie Bangura, also known as Santana Shyne, who was recently apprehended by police in Sierra Leone has been linked to the President’s Family.

Police confirmed Bangura’s arrest at the Fallah Checkpoint on the Bo-Taiama Highway on Sunday, June 22, in possession of 5.5 kilograms of dried leaves believed to be Kush.

According to the Gleaner Newspaper, Bangura, who resides at 23 Charles Street in Freetown, is allegedly an “errand boy” for Dauda Jalloh, also known as Dausy, who is reportedly the husband of Admire Bio. Admire Bio is the sister to President Julius Maada Bio.

The illicit substance was discovered ingeniously hidden beneath the seat of a Toyota CHR vehicle with license plate AWB 358. The vehicle was intercepted en route to Kenema, where Bangura reportedly admitted he was heading to “run business” with his regular customers.

During initial questioning, Santana Shyne described the Kush as a potent blend, suggesting it might be a synthetic cannabis strain. He detailed its composition as “fine C-L dust, Mashmeleon leaves, and a green-and-yellow powdery substance,” indicating the growing complexity and danger posed by synthetic drug manufacturing in the country. Bangura reportedly confessed to being relatively new to the illegal trade, having joined only three months prior.

Attempts by media to reach Dauda Jalloh for comment regarding his potential involvement or connection to the suspect were unsuccessful.

Both the vehicle and Santigie Bangura are currently in custody at the Regional Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) South, where detailed statements are being recorded as investigations continue.
