I am deeply saddened by the recent clash over land disputes that has resulted in the tragic loss of two lives. Violence is never the solution,” he said. “We must learn from this painful incident to foster peace and understanding within our communities.”

Fofanah urged youth in both chiefdoms to seek peaceful ways to resolve conflicts and stressed on the importance of dialogue. “Our strength lies in unity, and we must work to build a future that reflects our shared values and respect for one another,” he added.

Calling on youth to be agents of peace, he encouraged them to reject aggression and promote messages of harmony within their communities.

“Let us honour those we have lost by committing to a peaceful and prosperous future for all,” Fofanah concluded.

BBC and Reuters reporter, Umaru Fofana said on Saturday afternoon that the clash was between the Koranko and Limba ethnic groups in the two chiefdoms. Reports reaching our desk indicated that the two groups had a bitter disagreement over land in the north of the country.
