In a swift and pointed response to the All People’s Congress (APC) decision to withdraw from all parliamentary activities, Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has openly criticized the move, calling it a sign of poor leadership and lack of direction.
Addressing the issue on social media, Dr. Sengeh directly responded to Hon. Abdul Kargbo, the APC Parliamentary Leader, stating, “My goodness, Hon Abdul Kargbo, APC minority of Parliament, is a true demonstration of how unprepared and uninspired APC is. Sad!”
The APC’s decision comes amid ongoing political tensions and disputes with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). APC has formally requested the resignation or dismissal of the Clerk, arguing that his active involvement in partisan politics is incompatible with the impartial administrative functions required of his office
However, Dr. Sengeh questioned the opposition’s commitment to democratic engagement, suggesting their withdrawal undermines national progress and democratic representation.
The statement has stirred reactions across the political landscape, with some accusing the Chief Minister of inflaming tensions, while others view his remarks as a bold defense of institutional integrity.
We only have less than 3 years to the generation election and i don’t think all the infight are necessary
Well said Sir thanks they really lost direction 🤠 at this dying minutes they withdraw from parliament activities
U have to shot up if you don’t have anything to say, how can the Clerk operation in two functions? Under the ruling government and the parliament as well, it is constitutional?
