The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has announced that it will hold a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at the party’s headquarters on Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown.
A notice issued by National Secretary General Umaru Napoleon Koroma confirmed that all NEC members are expected to attend, with a special invitation extended to ministers and deputy ministers to join as observers.
The notice emphasized that only NEC members and invited observers will be permitted to enter the meeting hall. Other distinguished party members will receive individual invitations.
The proposed agenda for the meeting is comprehensive, covering several key party matters. The session will be called to order by the National PRO, followed by opening prayers. Dr. Prince Alex Harding, the Chairman, will deliver an opening statement, after which the Leader of the Party, His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, is scheduled to speak.
Key items on the agenda include:
- A presentation on the application for regional status from the party’s Canada chapter.
- The filling of vacant positions within the party.
- The presentation and adoption of a list of delegates for the upcoming National Delegate Conference.
- The election of members for the Independent Elections Monitoring and Oversight Committee (IEMOC), which will oversee the election of national officers.
- The presentation and adoption of resolutions.
The SLPP reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and party cohesion as it prepares for critical internal processes ahead of the National Delegate Conference.
